The Guardian has featured one of our Cooperators, Ms. Bonnetta Adeeb, in featured in a news article on her founding of the Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance (UCFA) and Ujamaa Seeds!
The Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance is a BIPOC non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating and growing heirloom seeds — aiming to bridge the gap between prospective growers and seed farms, particularly those from historically oppressed and marginalized communities. (You can support the UCFA by purchasing seeds at ujamaaseeds.com). Ujamaa Seeds is a project from the UFCA that supports its efforts through the selling of seeds, such as fruit, grains, greens, herbs, and much more.
Also photographed in this article are authors Kathy Anderson and Karen Bowlding! Their latest book, Fern and Ginger: Dandelions and Watermelons, was published earlier this year. Both Ms. Anderson and Ms. Bowlding also participated in our April spring seedling giveaway. Click here to view their bookstore!
